Welcome to the "www.TheFretwells.com" website. We focus mostly on the descendants of William and Fannie (Ramsey) Fretwell (pictured above), because this is our direct line; but, we have much information on other Fretwell lines as well. Any Fretwell line that we can tie into ours is automatically included.
To use this website effectively, you need to understand its purpose, what it contains, and what you personally can do to make it better. Take a few minutes and tour the website.
For the tour, we suggest you not spend much time in any one part of the website. Just rapidly browse through each button (on the left side of your screen) under the current tab (across the top of your screen) to get a general understanding of what the current tab contains. Then go on to another tab and view the contents under each button, and continue browsing until you have seen all of the website and understand what it contains, and how to access all the information. There is more to it than may be apparent to a casual visitor.
You'll be glad you took the time to overview and understand the entire site. This understanding will make your visits to this website more effective, and richer.
This website has two parts, this public part requiring no login, and a private part that requires a username and password.
The genealogy in this public section is truncated; that is, the names and other details about all living persons have been removed. Thus, you can get a good look at our Fretwell ancestors, but not at current generations.
There are two books published online in the private website. There are biographies of living Fretwells. There are hundreds of pictures of living Fretwells. There are many family memories recorded there. We estimate that more than two thirds of the total website are in the private part.
If you are a Fretwell with sufficient credentials to convince us that you have a legitimate, non-commercial interest in our family line, contact us, and we might give you access to the restricted portions of the website. Read more about why we have restricted access in the "Terms of Use and Copyright" tab of this section.
